Athlete Information Guide
Race 2 moves up to Childow at the stunning Lake Leschenaultia. This is the race not to be missed with a lake swim, a 6km cycle with rolling hills and a beautiful trail run.
This race also doubles as a school sports selection race.
Lake Leschenaultia is a national park and it is a privilege to be racing in such a beautiful area, please be respectful of this when racing,
*Please note the roads are closed of this event - however as there is only one way in and out of this area, traffic may appear without warning. Please proceed with caution safety first always.
RACE DISTANCES
3 X Races of a SWIM 300M - BIKE 7KM - RUN 1.5KM

RACE 1 - SWIM/BIKE/RUN
The event will kick off with a traditional swim, bike, run to get athletes familiar with the course before we mix things up.

RACE 2 - RUN/SWIM/BIKE
Trail run will start race 2 before heading into transition and into the lake, the final leg will be the bike, once athletes have racked Bike they must put on running shoes to cross the finish line which will be the run start line.

RACE 3 - BIKE/RUN/SWIM
Athletes will have a 200 meter run across the lake wall to transition where they will mount their bike ( this is for athlete safety and great for spectators) into transition they will head off on the trail run and this race will end with the swim and the finish line on the beach.

LEADERS SINGLET
The leader of each race category and gender will have a high visibility leader’s singlet allocated to them. The point’s leader on the day will wear the singlet and if the lead changes the singlet is passed on to the new race leader. This singlet will be worn throughout the season and the winners at the completion race 3, the series final will be awarded the singlet.
Any athletes returning from last year’s very first Super Sprint who were winners will wear the singlet for Race 1 of race 1 at Champion Lakes.
POINTS FOR EACH RACE/ AWARDS
At the finish of each race athletes will be awarded points equal to their finish position.

1st place - 1 point,

2nd place - 2 points

3rd Place – 3 points…. and so on.

The points will be tallied after each race and the athlete with the lowest score will be the race winner.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 athletes (with lowest points) in each of the race categories.

Athletes will be briefed before the race on what happens at the finish line to record placing this race will not be recorded with a timing chip system.
GENERAL RACE INFORMATION

Athletes who enter the entire series will be allocated a race number that they will race with for the entire series.

If you opt to only race one of the races of the series you will be allocated a number on race day.

This race is not timed using a timing chip system.

Point will be allocated during and after each race that will be made available on race day and posted online after the event.

DRAFT LEGAL RACING RULES
AS the bike leg is draft leg is draft legal, ONLY road bikes, wheels and helmets that meet the strict draft legal racing requirements will be allowed to race. Technical Officials will be checking all bikes on race day so please ensure that you read the attached forms to make sure your bike is compliant. STRICTLY NO TIME TRIAL bikes are permitted to race.

No drafting from another race wave (if waves are sent off together this this will be allowed).

No overtaking on either bridge.
