EXSS Events State Championship Duathlon kicks off the competitive racing season with State Championships Titles up fro grabs along with the first lot of points on the State Series TOTY.
There is something for everyone with the short course duathlon which is perfect for those doing their first ever duathlon or those that aren't quite ready for something a little longer. Or why not get some mates together and enter a team.
We also have the first race in the SUNSMART Kids racing series.

Senior State Series
The 2020/21 State Series Competition will allow for members to accumulate points towards the Triathlete of the Year Award (TOTY) across nine (9) races, based in both metro and regional WA. Points will be allocated across the 5 year age group from 20-24 up to 70+ to the top ten (10) members in each category. You must be a member at the time of competing and your best seven (7) results will count towards your tally for TOTY STATE SERIES RACE AND POINTS LINK
LONG COURSE - COURSE DESCRIPTION
The first run will consist of 2 x 2.5km laps heading out over the pedestrian bridge and onto the event path -( there is an aid station located 615m out ) before turning at the 1.25km turn heading pack over the bridge to the run turn and heading back out on a 2nd lap, once the second lap is complete athletes head into transition and out onto the 4 laps bike 21km bike course. Athletes will head left on the event past the car bridge, once they have finished the 4th lap head back onto the island by turning left and back into transition to head out on the final 2.5km run before heading to the finish line.

Junior State Series
The 2020/21 Junior State Series Competition will allow for members to accumulate points towards the Triathlete of the Year Award (TOTY) across five (5) races, based in both metro and regional WA. Points will be allocated across the to the top ten (10) members in each category 12-13 years, 14-15 years, 16-19 years. You must be a member at the time of competing and your best four (4) results will count towards your tally for TOTY.

SUNSMART KIDS RACE
The SUNSMART Kids Duathlon is the first on the kids calendar for the year and is open to all kids ages 7-11, with a fun multi lap course for parents to cheer and a medal at the finish line and plenty of post race treats, its guaranteed to be a great morning for the little ones.

GENERAL RACE INFORMATION
Medals from EXSS Events will also be awarded to first three in each of the categories male and female of the Long Course and Short Course.
State Championship medals in the Long Course will only be handed out to TWA current members.
State Series Points will also be points up for grabs to current TA members in the Senior and Junior Categories.
Prize money for Open athletes will be provided by EXSS Events only and will be paid to to the top 5 open athletes male and female. The amount is yet to be determined and will be provided by EXSS Events.
Timing - as it is a state champion race timing chips will be used and splits for each leg will be available. WASE timing uses live results so they will be available at the conclusion of the race.
There will be an aid station on the course.

Drafting is not permitted, a gap of 7 meters must be kept at all times
No passing on the left at all.

COVID- 19 RACE SAFE INFORMATION
# This information will change from 27/6 and will be update when information available
We are working closely with Venues and Stakeholders to ensure a safe return to racing, as the situation is changing constantly we will update information as it comes to hand.
COVID - 19 has changed race day procedures for the future, small adjustments will have to be made by athletes, volunteers, race organisers, spectators and race venues, but we are all working hard to put forward the best race experience possible.
Entries to the race will open July 1st and will be fully refundable if the event is cancelled due to COVID 19.
